Florence

Hello Firenze!

We got into town, checked into our Air B&B, and headed back into the centre of Florence.

We got a bite to eat, and then did another Rick Steve’s audio tour. This one focused on how Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance – very cool!

The Duomo!

I took many pictures of the Duomo. We’ve been dreaming about coming here for many years!

Such cool statutes, right in the streets.

Duomo again! Ha!

Bronze doors.

St. George, slayer of dragons.

Mini David, in the outdoor courtyard.

Poor Medusa got her head chopped off.

I loved this lane. It had statues of famous Italians on either side.

da Vinci.

Michaelangelo.

Dante.

Galileo.

The Ponte Vecchio!

This is how the Medicis walked to work every day to get to their offices, which is now the Uffizi Gallery.

Our friend Jen recommended this restaurant.

Apparently the famous thing to get is the Tbone steak. I tried to sneak a picture of it on the table beside us. It was huge!

We went with the truffle ravioli. Y-U-M!!

We split the portion, so we could have room for dessert!
