Another one in the can, Silence! is closing this weekend! It was a quick one, but a great bunch. And look at this fun prop! Ah theatre, so fleeting. Done and on to the next one!
I have been doing this gig on and off for 8 years - the Roving Cannery Mermaids! We sing and rove around the Richmond Maritime Festival, which was last Saturday and Sunday. It's a great event, very family-friendly and free. The people are always so nice, so we mermaids have a lot of fun.
Earlier this month, our dear friend Steve Street passed away. He was full of life, right to the end. In fact, he played Arvide in my production of Guys and Dolls last summer. I'm continuing with my Broadway legend-seeing theme. After seeing Bernadette Peters in concert, we went and saw Len Cariou. He did a one-man show, piecing together Shakespearean text with Broadway songs. He was fantastic, I'm so glad we got a chance to see him!
