Socks from cones

I really love to knit socks. It’s just a nice thing to do while sitting on my couch, reading a book or listening to an audio book. And they travel very well and make a nice on-the-go project.

I do love hand dyed sock yarns, but they can get a bit expensive. I recently contacted a woman on Facebook Marketplace who sells yarn off cones. I got some fingering weight yarn that you can hold two together, as I did for this pair. This is 80% merino wool and 20% nylon – very durable and super affordable. I priced it out and it ends up being $2 per sock or $4 for a pair!

I love this colour too, it’s a sort of goldenrod, deep mustard yellow. Is there anything better than hand knit socks??
