Yesterday was my mom’s birthday! We’re hosting a big brunch for her this weekend, but last night the family got together and had cake.
I ordered this wonderful cake from my friend Ranae of Something Sweet Pâtisserie. Check her out on Instagram and Facebook.
Ranae is a fellow theatre artist, she played Mary Poppins and she received this crocheted character earlier this summer.
But ok, let’s get to the cake. Two layers of yummy lemon with perfect buttercream – not too thick or sweet. Topped with real yellow roses, my mom’s favourite.
It fed all 12 of us and there was even a bit leftover. And my hubby had 2 and a half slices!
My mom is a happy camper.
