Leyna’s 9th birthday
Last week, on Nov. 16, we celebrated my niece Leyna's 9th birthday. One more year and she's going to be double-digits! She's a sweet, sweet girl - and a fellow Scorpio.
Family birthdays
I celebrated my birthday (again) this weekend, along with my sister's birthday. I put together this dessert plate. I was very proud of those chocolate-dipped strawberries. My family descended en masse into my little apartment, bearing food, food, and more food.

October birthdays: Pa
Today would have been my Pa's 72nd birthday. I miss him every day, it's so, so hard sometimes to think about life without him. I love this picture though, of him and my husband. They would often go to a hockey game together to celebrate their birthdays, which are on the 9th and 12th.
